Narnia 2...

if you read my recently added twitter on the sidebar the other night, you will know i went to watch nin nia ah...opps i meant Narnia 2 for FREE courtesy of E. He managed to get the bidarlahs free tickets to watch, only to find out half of us couldn't make it. Bida benar.

Well, it was me who asked him to check for free tickets to begin with, so got to GO. hei, free (cold) popcorns and drinks some more leh...

how's nin nia?

without spoiling for those gonna watch, it's good, funny and entertaining. No need to think too much cos no twist and turns storyline, u know who the good, who the bad and the cute. So just go as its a visual treat. ok...maybe a tad long but nonetheless its worth going in to watch.

for me, i can't help but find it similar to our chinese series or those involved 'fighting for throne' movie.

1. Greedy king's brother fight for throne (why is it always the uncle? huh)
2. Greedy king's brother plot to kill those in his way
3. Big battle fight scene
4. One on one fight scene
5. Useless turned able-to-fight nephew/prince.
6. Group of alliances to help the prince to gain back his throne.
7. Horse-riding through the jungle/forest.
8. One big 'power' guy come out at the end to help solve everything.

UNCANNY! i say.

however, got to say, the one of the new character: the cute all-fighting mouse,

Sir Reepicheep, is fuunnnny. just think Puss-in-boots of Shrek. now, i can add him or it to my list of famous rats.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND...

SATC on Oprah...

countdown to the premiere of Sex and the City: the movie begins.

well, in US of A, it will be 30th May but those lucky bitches in UK is 12th May. I still think it should be in NY not London. It's the city! come'on where SATC begins. oh well! i doubt it will even be shown in our local cinema due to censorship and all. SO damn unfair i say. why why why?
seriously? the irony is you can buy the pirated DVD or tv box-set in all DVD shops in town. well, that's censorship for us over here. I dunno...really. U ban them in the big screen yet you can get a copy of it somewhere. oh well...

I myself have barred all trailers & show clips from the upcoming movie till now: quickly closed my eyes or flipped the channel on tv or skipped all press coverage. So far so good in doing that, of course i saw the 'wedding scene'. how can u not, it's everyone in the news. argh! (pic)

well, we do not know the ending or story and from what i read or heard from the gals' interview with Oprah, the movie will not disappoint anyone. That's good to hear.

yes! i watched the interview last night and now i can't seem to find it in youtube anymore to link it here. strange. hmm...too bad for you guys muahaha!

cos it's good to see the whole cast back- how our Samantha/Kim is currently dating a younger man/boy in real life, or Miranda/Cynthia found real love via a lesbo. ooo...clip 5: Pat Field giving us a glimpse of the costume section ie. shoes, bags and clothes. Ladies, you will die. Amazing!!! (pic)

So cannot wait to get hold of the pirated DVD, so can watch it in my own home or make it an event to watch it as SATC nite. yeah man!

and the awards goes to...

Watched the Golden Horse Awards -金馬獎 last Saturday night (Taiwan's Oscar equivalent) live on TV. Like all award shows, it's loooong and half most of the thank Qs, i dunno even know who. Also i have not even watched most of the nominated movies including the big winner of the night: Lust, Caution. Man! where can i get hold of the unedited version. where?

Not gonna go through every single moments of the show or winners. for the full list of winners, click here. But what i wanna share with you guys for those did not catch it; some reaaaaally good and funny moments- shall i say, highlights of the night.

presenting the Male Actor...

Sandra Wu (one of my fav. and funniest actress in this world) with Ang Lee.

Guess wat happen? She said (quoting the paper) Ang Lee wished to present the award to Tony Leung personally. So she went and tore the envelopes to pieces straight away without opening it. yes! she tore them. hahah!!! Brilliant... fantastic...now who else can do that. who who who??? i have never seen it done like EVER before in any awards show. And check out Ang Lee's expressions: Priceless.

performances of the night:

Kelly Chen did a so-so 60's performance medley, wat was she doing? she looked out of place and lost. Karen Mok & Leo Ku did another boring medley of classic songs.

The 2 highlights for the night: a japanese magican did his card tricks on stage with volunteers: Aaron Kwok & Sandra Wu. Amazing...

Second was this young chap, Jam Hsiao (當蕭敬), whom i do not know or heard before this, till that evening, and his voice is simply breath-taking. No joke. He performed all the nominated songs of the night, and my god...

check it out yourself.

i kept on playing this clip over and over and over.

After googling his name, he is only 20 year old and yet to release his debut album. He first appeared on the Taiwan talent show called Million Star and since then gathered a huge followers. He even managed to do a duet with Amei on her latest album. I tell you, he is gonna be Huge.

Bourne Ultimatum...

How many sequels or trilogies out this year? I have lost count.

Last night went to watch another trilogy Bourne Ultimatum and i got to say: Man, how far does one guy need to go and trace back his own identity? let's see, there's Moscow, Madrid, Tangier, Berlin, London, then New York; why he did not come to Brunei? hmm...if he need a break or peace from all the running, afterall we are tagged as 'Abode of Peace'.

I'm not reviewing the movie cause there are loads of those movie critics doing that. All i gonna say is: GO WATCH. If u like the first & second, you will definitely enjoy the third (if not more). If you have not watch the previous installments, you will definitely enjoy this one.

While watching this movie, it got me thinking; how much are we being watched? Are we being tagged? Are our conversation that easily tapped into (with the right tools of course)? Are our personal details that easily accessed?

If the tapping into the conversation that easy, i can't help but wonder if our mobile phone provider, DST have the ability or system to do such? hmm... Elim, can kah? Do tell leh. Like pin point or track down someone you hate say, or 'like' in some case.

Anyway, can they do that? What make them more superior than everyone to do that? I remember having this topic with one of my friend in UK, while discussing about the war and names were mentioned, i told her if someone actually 'eavesdropping' into to our conversation now, (they might just picked up the names or keywords) we might hear "Ding Dong" or some Men in black suit knocking on our door. haha! Ok, like they care about our conversation haha! But in the movie, one word: you got tracked down. no joke! yes! the word is bidarlah. muahaha!

Are we living in a 'Big Brother' aquarium? Will Davina McCall be there to help us? (pic)

ooo...got to mention: the fight scene between Bourne & Desh is f*&king real and amazing. kudos to the director & choreographer. Each punch & elbow look For a sneak preview, click here.

It's called the Ultimatum, but will there another installment?

O 13

so many summer tri-quel this year: spidey 3, i missed (and yet to watch) PoC 3, watched Shrek 3, and now finally it's Ocean 13.

yes! the slick, super-cool gang is back for a revenge minus CZJ & JR (the 2 missus).

spoiler alert (dun say i dun warn you guys)

OMG! the architecture is bloody amazing. This is wat CGI is for, i tell you. So real that i want to visit the Bank Hotel myself. need to find out more info on that: who designed it? It look somehow unreal to build but who cares right!, it's f87cking amazing. The cladding, the spaces, the rooms, the interiors, the colors.

One more: Reuben's (ie. Monica & David of Friends's dad) house looks just like my house hahah! rite! in my dreams. Again, anyone got info on who's house is tat? The space & exterior-i like i like! the materials & colors the architect/designer used complemented one another and i got a sliding pool (not ur tacky type)-from spa area to the big pool. nice!!!

wat about the plot?

tagline: REVENGE IS A FUNNY THING. So yeah.

Reuben got defrauded by Bank, played by Al Pacino-who look uncanny like Uncle Valentino (even got the over-orange tan-gosh!), so the gang set out for a revenge. Yup! plot is to spoil his opening night for Bank Hotel.

In the midst of all this, we get to see few funny moments like Danny cries while watching Oprah and joined by Rusty. haha!

also felt sorry for the hotel spy. poor man!

and where can we get gilroy???

as like previous 2 tua hai (oceans), the gang managed to pull everything off, (what's new) and also managed to out-trick the other villain (again what's new). But it's all very well staged and the Steven S, did an amazing work here (as always): the juxtaposition of the colors & scenes in the movie, the jokes, and even the growth of the main characters.

Ok enuf: if you hv not seen it...GO GO GO!!! if not for the movie, if not for the architecture, if not for the director, go for Brad, George & Damon. Why not?

the green one...

there are so so many summer blockbusters coming - the posters, banners, cardboard cut outs are plastered everywhere in the cinema. One bigger than the other. crazy!

it was a holiday yesterday, so wat do we do? no, we did not hop to an island like someone, nor did we go back to the office to work.

well, ran a few errands (somehow yet to be done-long story) and check out a few things and caught a 'matinee' together with elim.

yup...shhhhrek 3-the huge ogre with 2 small horn-like ears, his looks well some say cute, some say ugly, some say a footballer-lookalike. well u be the judge. is the movie any better?

we have familiar characters and new added ones -unfortunately his sexy back (clue) is not on the cardboard cut out. see for yourself in the movie lah or google ''arthur". haha!

plot review (dun say i did not warn you guys & dolls)

the story of this latest installment: when the 'frog'/king dies, shrek is next in line but he reluctantly refuses, so he goes and find the sexy back future king to be. In the mid of all this, the loreal hair loving Prince Charming gathers all the fairy tale villains trying to vacant the throne in far far away. ooo...our shrek has some reflections to deal himself as he faces the issues of becoming a papa, while trying to save far far away from Charming. There in a nutshell.

Like previous Shrek, musics and even singing scene play an integral part. This one no difference and there is a musical as part of the plot. Yup! Shrek-the musical. Next!...

This movie felt quite grown up compared to the previous ones. Do i enjoy it? of course i did. Go go go! watch it.

funny bits:
1. when donkey & puss got their bodies switched. Imagine a donkey purrs haha and trying to be cute ala puss style hahahah!!!

2. those bitches, i meant girl powers. U go gal! aiyaaaaaaa... snow white doing her thang! (pic)

3. gingerbread man's memory flash back.

annoying:

1. mummy bring their kids out of their seats to pee, and calling their names while at it : "X, here go now, hurry."

2. the stupid cinema turned on the bloody side lights while the credits are rolling, lower the volume, and suddenly turned off the screen. Excuse me, the ending is not the ending yet! There are more scenes ya! Stupid! I know the queue outside is long, cos u bloody did the scheduling yourself. Idiot.

father & son

lau peh kah kia, or fu zhi, whichever you want to call it. It's really lau peh and his kia. Was it worth all the buzz and awards which the movie received so far?

it's one of those movie where you have to find time to sit down and watch (if not in the cinema) cos it's a slow paced movie. The story plot is a relatively simple one; basically about how a father (played by Aaron-best actor) faced after being dumped by his wife ie. all the aftermath of losing his wife and bringing up his son (played by Gouw Ian Iskandar- best supporting actor). How he faced his daily life or rather not wanting to face it, how he neglect his son, how he got beaten up by loan sharks due to his gambling habits, how he loses everything and got his son into stealing which ended up in a big regrettable consequences. Besides that, the movie also show how the son feels through all this, his pain, his naivety, his love for both parents, his loss of both parents.

While typing this i do feel for his son, an 8 year old son facing all this issue, made to do all kinds of things whether out of willingness or by forced. This is a movie that addresses loads of personal issues and reflects how the individual shall carrying on in their life. I dun think there is anyone to blame as everyone is responsible for their action.

It's a story of moving on and the performance by actors are real and convincing. Love? Life? Forgive? Forget? Who to blames? Watch it. You will see being a parent is not an easy task, being a son stuck in the middle of all this is never an easy thing.

ps. there are a couple of actors in the movie, that i did not know it's who i tot i knew. Goodness! Only till i saw the end credits, check out auntie jennifer. ooo to answer the question at the top: YES! So try to watch it or if you want to borrow the dvd, let me know. there is a waiting list oledi. (pic1, 2)

Wild pigs...

Finally went to watch a movie in the new cinema in town. Went passed it or rather walked near it couple of times when i was there but never actually been up the steps leading to the cinema. Wat i like? the able to recline or tilt seats; they are rather comfy and spacious compared to those in empire or the mall. well now i understand why that's part of their selling point or friends been talking about it.
as for the movie, well...we went to watch 4 middle aged actors trying to be bikers riding their harleys cross the U S of A just to wanna be free (for a while) from their daily life or facing their mid-life crisis or simply trying to relive wat they were once many moons back ie. youth. Dun ask me why they are called wild pigs or yeh chu, ooo sorry it's wild hogs caused we missed 5 mins of the opening.

The movie is tagged as 'hilariously funny'. well, it's a comedy tat's for sure. And did i laugh? YES i did. There were quite a few funny moments eg. highways scene, dancing nervously scene (think i might still his move haha), the gay policeman scene, apple tattoo scene, camping scene, wat else? ooo the scene where William H Macy removed his glasses. Brilliant and i want one too. haha!

The story plot is hmm...rather thin, but you will laugh where they want to ho ha ho! It's also kinda strange seeing Travolta in tat movie. I dunno why? The ending is so random i tell you. Really random. so if you want to see harleys, yes! and if you want to see classic raybans, yes! Actually this shld be called: 40 turning 18 or mens over 40s.

And speaking of rayban, i added a new pair of the classic 'wayfarer' to my collection. It's not featured in the movie but heavily featured in the classic 'Cocktail'. (staring TC) Classic baby and it's the original with the cover & everything. Not the re-release yo! N it's tortoise shell (brown) color frame instead of black. why? i cant find it anymore. Still searching high and low for the it. Of course, always on the look for more vintage & new shades.

Sah pak

went to watch "Sah Pak" after all those ho & has from the gangs: some say so-so, some say very gay, and also heard from others: much better than troy, or on the contrary. wat i think? well...at the beginning when i saw the trailer on tv, i wasn't tat impressed.

graphic-checked, topless or groin wearing men-checked, makeup-checked, huge war/fighting scene-checked, blood pouring everywhere(animated)-checked.

not another Greek mythology gladiator/troy-esque movie. not another Hollywood take on this kind of genre. Ok, the storyline is different: 'a story to remember' and should be told: sah pak/300 Spartans fighting for their freedom/country.

Ok, got to admit the animation is brilliant, no doubt for tat. Color-wise also very 'in'- Gold tones- from the set to the costume/accessories to the makeup. Fight scene are well choreographed but somehow all the blood pouring/flying on the scene doesnt seem get splattered on the Spartans. hmm...well-slashed i say. Cut away from you so you wont get blood stains.

ooo...this movie to me, it's like watching someone playing the computer game. To think about it, easily translated to a game-maybe there is one already-i wouldn't know. Check out the website, there is a game link. Those 300 (lives) led by
King Leonidas just keep on fighting- level 1, level 2, level 3 (immortals), level 4 (big elephants), level 5, level 6, .... till u mean the final one (the sexy slightly confused king-sitting on his big throne-classy).

tat's my view lah. if you guys & dolls like war/mythology genre movie. Why not? Not doubt it's a spectacular visual feast.

dreamgals...

Listen...wat a great song! luving it, loving it, love it. Listen...

Dreamgirls? tat's another story. For those hv not watched it yet, do check it out cos it's actually not that bad, just not that engaging as compared to Chicago. Is it worth all the awards buzz? hmm...personally, not all categories i guessed.

Basically, to summarise the film, it's about one gal who can really sing, who has the voice but was pissed off for not being casted as the lead of the group, then got dumped by the group & manager/boyfriend; years later after raising a child on her own & trying to make end meets, decided to try singing again. In between all these years, the group got bigger & bigger and to make matter worse, they covered the casted-out gal new single and that really pissed her off. In between, the lead singer decided she can do better and want her opinion to be heard, blah di blah, and decided to leave her manager/husband. And...ooo the finale, she dissolved the group and introduced the original dreamgirls line-up for one last time.

I now understand why everyone or critics praised Jen Hudson for her debut role. Not only she opened the movie & ended the movie, sang or shouted on top of her lungs throughout the movie, her role is much stronger and vital to this movie compared to the lead singer, Beyonce and yet she is a supporting actress. To me, when she wear her afro, she looked like mini-Macy Gray who can really really sing. Maybe just me. In the movie, her character basically have all these diva atitude.

Reasons to watch the movie: 1. Costumes, 2. The music, 3. the architecture. (pic)

ps. catch tonite grammy's. Beyonce will be performing 'Listen'.
update: 8:23pm just watch Beyonce AMAZING performance of Listen. Love you, B.
UPDATE: 13.02.07 found the performance clip. Check out my video site.

how to 2...

like all or most movies, they come with a sequel. so now i present you: how to annoy ppl at the cinema pt 2

26. Throw spit wads on the screen. Try throwing them on the upper part of the screen so they can't get scraped off.
27. Pass around a collection plate and see if anyone contributes.
28. Point a laser pointer at the screen. Give the audience a laser light show.
29. Bring a book and a bright light. Start reading the book with the light on. When someone asks you to turn out the light, yell, "Shh, I'm trying to read!"
30. Use binoculars. Stare at the audience rather than the movie.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31. Bring a Nintendo laser gun. Shoot at the screen.
32. Clap loudly every time a person walks into the theater late.
33. When someone kicks the back of your chair, scream, "Ahhh, whiplash!"
34. Ask what the theater's return policy on popcorn is.
35. Ask the person at the ticket window, "Do you work here?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
36. Start a standing ovation at the end of the movie.
37. Quote all dialogue 4 seconds after it is said on the screen.
38. Get up frequently and leave the room while singing "Let's all go to the Lobby to get ourselves a treat"
39. Every time there is a gun shot scream, "Hit the floor!", jump on the floor, and cover your head.
40. Wear one of those "cat in the hat" top hats.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
41. Get 3 people together and act like you are Crow, Tom Servo, and Joel from Mystery Science Theater 3000.
42. Before the movie starts, stand up, and imitate the Truth commercial saying, "The makers of this film couldn't find any way to make their characters rebellious, rockin`, or cool so instead, they'll just smoke."
43. When someone walks by you in the aisle scream, "Ahhhhhh! Bad Touch!"
44. Play musical chairs, getting up frequently and moving right next to someone sitting by themself.
45. Bring your own beanbag chair and sit in the aisle.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
46. During a love scene, stand up and run to the screen shouting "Hooters!"
47. Before the movie begins, tape fart cusions to various chairs in the theater room.
48. Bring a portable air popper, pop your own popcorn.
49. Bring a watergun and shoot it at anyone who begins talking.
50. Tie a cardboard box around your waist and walk up and down the aisles shouting "Get your popcorn, peanuts!"

ps. if you have any tried and tested ways, or something u always wanted to do in the cinema, do tell. (for part one)

xmas day...

It’s Christmas day! Not much of a Christmas spirit here locally. Just like any other day really. Woke up mid day and went home to shower & rest for a bit. Wat do you do on such a day really? Browse through all the pics I took from last nite dinner (will post & write later-give moi some time), went to a xmas party-ish for kids and got myself some food & pressie hehe! Not bad huh!

Then went to a movie which Zar had wanted to watch for quite a while; it’s called Cinta. (love in malay) and yes! it’s moi’s first malay movie. And to make things a bit difficult for me, no subtitles. YES! No SUBTITLES. Goodness! But thank god! I got the zest of the movie and understand it. Ok, some dialogues I hmm…guessed but overall, I got it.

Cinta is similar to the movie 'love, actually '- remember the movie starring loads of actors whose characters intertwine each others life in some way. Well, not exactly the same story but the idea is similar and covers the idea of ‘love’ hence the title. I got to say it’s brilliant! I’m surprised myself that; firstly, like I say, I understand the movie without subtitles; secondly, the story is well written and the characters are more real compared to 'love, actually'.

Spoiler alert

Set in KL, it covered 5 different aspect of ‘love/cinta’- sister/brother love, simple love, family love, and even touches the sickness that I feared I will faced myself: dementia. This movie is full of warmth, the layering or connection between characters is cleverly evolved and the soundtrack is amazing.

Like all such movie, when you tried to connect so many characters, and with time restrains, some characters lack depth, and there are loads of ‘music video’ moments. While watching the movie, I couldn’t help also trying to connect some of the characters to 'love, actually' like hugh grant (prime minister) to the male lead (publisher), martine to the female lead (bookshop assistant).

There are some really corny moments but I’m sure all ladies will like it if ‘these’ moments happened on them, and hmm…I myself don’t mind either muahaha! (hint) Like I say earlier, it is a heart felt movie, and also ladies take note: bring tissues cos there are moments in the movie you might need it.

So Joli & those interested, you shld go and watch this. You will enjoy it cos I do.

perhaps, love...

FINALLY i watched the movie today on VCD! wat u say? vcd? yes! i tot i bought the original DVD a while back, but i was totally surprised myself this morning when i insert the hmm...yes vcd into my player. Well, at least it's an original and it's super clear. and yes! finally, one year later.

Wat about the movie? Guess all of you know by now, it's a Peter Chan movie, starring Takeshi, Jacky & Zhou Chun. All brillantly good! It's one of Chinese first musical movie, a love story to say the least, and it's good, have i not mentioned it oledi. Well deserved all the nominations & awards for the film, director, & actress.

Again, the costume and set are sexy, even the wallpaper or background look amazing. It's a musical movie thus, to create the set & pace of the movie is very important as the plot evolves, and i must say, the director did a superb work here. From full blown musical scene to stillness or sadness is very well translated.

While watching the movie, you questioned yourself, how much will you forget your past? how difficult or easy is tat? The storyline is basically a love story layered between the present set(movie) and the past of the actors. It questioned all the meaning of love, how easy for one to let go, or in this case to hold on to it? is it love or is it revenge in the end? Perhaps, love? perhaps just perhaps.

The ending is brillant, and it left me thinking wat i been asking my friends previously; after a relationship ended, where is the love? cos when you fall in love, everything is love love love, but when it ends, where they go? (for me, its embedded in your memory-it's never actually gone) how much is left in your memory? the ending song answered or at least proposed some answers. When you are in love, everything seems to be blurry but only when it's over, looking back you will see clearly. Is loving someone letting go? perhaps, in some cases. Is loving someone owning him or her? Perhaps, in some cases. (pic 1, 2)

golden flower...

finally went to watch COTGF. I was kinda looking forward to seeing the movie cos saw the trailers and the making on TV. Did u know that the golden robe that Chow Yun Fatt (king) wore weight almost 40kg. Goodness! and if you think that is heavy, imagine Gong Li's (queen) ensemble: her robe & her head pieces. I can't start to imagine if i was them; actually some of the costumes hmm...are quite fitting for tonite's party muahaha! If only...

Spoiler alert

back to the movie, the storyline is basically about family feud behind close door. In this case, the family is the royal Chinese family in some many many years ago, and the door is BIG RED door in China where no public are allow to go. Trust, Passion, Family, Love are some of the tag, and it's always not what i seems to be.

It all started with the queen trying to free herself, her love for her 'son' and all this resulted a riot, trying to overthrow the king. Lke all movie of this genre, the director leave the ending to the audience to make up their mind. To me, history will never change no matter how you write a story, the director will always leave the ending back to square one. Everything in the middle are all the twists & turns, thus all baddies die and the king & queen get back to their life.

Is it worth watching? Just to watch the set & costume is worth the money. The palace interior is so grand & i do wonder how big is the set cos on screen, it look huge. Though at time, i was blinded by the colour. So rich. Your eyes will starts to wonder and want to see everything, yet focusing on the actors. The costumes are incredibly gorgeous. I was told the director got mocked for this as he changed the female costumes, as in those days, all woman costumes were covered up to their neck, but in this film, corset with a capital C. Thus breast movements are everywhere. Lovely. I personally like it when a director dare to change something; it's only a movie and it's his view & story.

Gong Li is in tip top performance, so as Chow Yun Fatt. The princes' performance are okie, but sometimes just a bit unbelievable. But was i'm annoyed is the movie version i watched last nite is dubbed in Cantonese. ARGH!!! why why whY? i always prefer to watch the original, cos when u dubbed their lips & voice do not match.

how to...

this one is for adam...who is annoyed everytime i say or post anything about going to our local cinema due to his frustation and 'incident'. here is a list of getting back at them. haha!
Yes...50 ways to annoy people in the cinema. (courtesy of this site)

1. Throw popcorn in the air and yell, "It's snowing!"
2. Go, "Oooooh..." whenever anyone kisses.
3. Clap when the good guy gets killed.
4. During the previews, yell, "Can you fast-forward it?"
5. Whenever the bad guy is doing something devious, say, "Watch out!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Laugh very loudly at all the corny jokes.
7. Tell the man selling popcorn that the bathroom is flooding.
8. Yell out what is going to happen.
9. Wear a cape and when its your turn to get popcorn yell, "I'm Batman! Hahaha!" and run away.
10. Say that they cannot sit next to you because you invisible friend already is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11. Dress for every movie as if it were the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
12. Use empty chairs next to you as catapults with candy. Aim at specific people behind you and see if you can hit anyone in the back row.
13. Wear 3d glasses. Complain loudly how bad the effect are.
14. Bring a flashlight. In the middle of the film do shadow puppets on the ceiling.
15. Bring a remote control. Complain that you can't change the channel.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16. Sit front row, the minute the movie starts run out screaming.

as tears go by...

i have not watch the movie myself but saw the trailer for it last nite on tv. wat caught my attention is the soundtrack. We all know that Wong Kar Wai used loads of music as part of his movie and they played quite a central role and sometimes part of the plot, and sometimes make the movie more memorable. Think 'California Dreaming' in Chung Hing Express, or 'Happy Together' in Happy Together. But wat i didn't know is that he used this song in 'As tears go by': 思海中的波濤滔滔不息飛躍起.

The trailer kept on repeating this verse: 思海中的波濤滔滔不息飛躍起 over and over again and that's wat caught my attention cos it's none other than Sandy's 激情. I'm totally surprised, and i got to watch the movie now. It's apparently WKW's debut feature movie staring Andy Lau, the gorgeous Maggie Cheung & Jacky Cheung; way before he got into art-house film, and some say, this is the movie that he experimented with all the trickery that he made him famous. well well well... i just got to watch it and judge for myself. as they say: 心窩中的激情終於不可關閉起.

till then...

penguins...

For those who watch W&G, remember the episode guest starring Ellen, yes! All she wanted was to go the zoo to see the penguin, but little did she know (she said) she ended being one. Yes! she became a nun. muahahahahaaha.

and this evening we went to see the penguins in town. yes! we visited the zoo. hahaha! all the penguins are so damn cute, esp the little ones. Aint kidding! you guys got to go and watch it.

Spoiler alert
The music : so many songs, you dont hv to be beautiful to turn me on, i just need your body from dust to dawn, you dun be rich to be my gal, you dont have to be cool to rule my world, ....give a gal a chance, KISS; if she leave you now, she take away the biggest part of you...wooohoohoo hoo baby please dont go, Boogie wonderland.

The dance : really want to make you move your feet.

The penguins : Mumble, Gloria, papa, Mama, Ramon

The movie : the animation is really really good. Those animators from WB did an excellent job in capturing the essence of the penguins and the environment, thus making this movie rather charming and entertaining. You can feel yourself riding or fast swimming under the ocean with them. The usage of real & animated humans & animations are brillantly incorporated in the movie.

Go watch it. go go go!!! it's really good! pop songs incorporated into the whole movie; imagine moulin rouge with penguins haha! you got nicole kidman as mama. ooo...it's called Happy Feet! Everybody tap-dance now!
