plurk me lah...

found a new interactive site via some of my dailies two weeks ago and have been plurking ever since. J'Z joined, so guys & dolls...come and join the fun.

what is plurk?

"A really snazzy site that allows you to showcase the events that make up your life, and follow the events of the people that matter to you, in deliciously digestible short messages called plurks."

similar to twitter, it's realtime and 'live'.

unlike twitter, you get to comment i.e leave short msgs to me or anyone.

think msn but u get to communicate with everyone in your friend list with one just plurk.

for example.
so friends/readers like u guys, can register (which takes only like 10 secs) and comment or plurk with moi. fun...

so add me (bidarlah) when u joined! come on...

thanks to patlaw of blankanvas (which is a great blog/site) for doing me the above icon. Thank you so very the muchie.

ps. hope u dun mind that i amended it slightly to suit my sidebar. ;)

just click on my sidebar plurk me lah to go to my site.

trash or art?

we heard it over and over and over...believe me!

"aiyo, why so smelly!"

"why aren't they doing something about the dump?"

"why build the "our local broadcast station" (clue: my initial put together-yup! my TV station) near the dumpster?"

and many many more...

well...look on bright side or well, which ever side u prefer lah.

Now if we use our little imagination and creative juices, of course wear a mask or

a more heavy duty gas mask...(pic)

when gluing trash art pieces together, just like these...

'trash people' by HA Schult.

think the over elaborated movie: "wild wild west"

using light projection

cute huh...simple

created from recycled carrier bags as part of the Eden Project in Cornwall, UK. Now that used plastic bags well used.

for more trash art, click here.(all pic from the site)

really one's trash is someone's treasure.

now, who gonna start? If Sport&Culture Mins. or art Mins. reading this :), what say U?

on a similar note. I read BB yesterday and saw a rather interesting piece of hmm...articles on recycling. U know how everyone now jumping on the bandwagon: trying to be 3 R. just see facebook and see who joined that group. I just wonder, how many of them really practice it? join a group or cause, how many actually means it?

well...one lady bought some cheap rubber hair ties from some cheap store in town and later realised they were made from recycled condoms. Not sure they were used or rejected condoms. Now's There something about Mary. hehe!

Dun ask me how she knows? cos i dun. apparently from some mass emails she received, and she became Nancy Drew, did her own investigation by cutting the ties up and compared to the images on her screen. Uncannily similar wor!

Aren't all rubber made of hmm...whatever rubber material used to make any rubber? I dunno. Talk about recycling.

Blackle...

for those who say text on black screen/web pages are horrible or annoying or pain to eye...shut ur trap.

With the right color arrangement, its nice. *ahem* my blog. muahaha! plus we all know black is slimming. anyway...

Now there is another reason why black background deserves a shoutout, and comes from google. yes! u heard it right! Black Google = Blackle.

Blackle was created by Heap Media to remind us all of the need to take small steps in our everyday lives to save energy*

*Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. "Image displayed is primarily a function of the user's color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen." Roberson et al, 2002

so read more about it and set ur homepage to BLACKLE. Every little helps (hei, this sounds like tesco).

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.

Dumb & **** laws...

well, like they say: if you can't win them, join them lah. hmm...

if you ever visit the following cities, DO NOT do the following or else...

in Thailand

- It is illegal to leave your house if you are not wearing underwear.

Now someone please tell me how can u spot someone not wearing their undies? seriously!

I guess, any excuse for a body search or strip by the fashion police? O, maybe by the sweat or urine patches, camel toe-ing, over excited bulges?

in LionCity

-Failure to flush a public toilet after use may result in very hefty fines.

How? Is there like a toilet officer coming after you,

"sir, u under arrest."

huh? why?

"You left your chocolate cake floating." or

"You forgot to clean your artwork"

So make sure after your no. 2 or poo poo, dont forget to press or pull. Word of warning: if your shit is that colorful, go see your doctor ok.

-Homosexuals are not allowed to live in the country.

hmm...so i think quarter of their population have to migrate then.

- As it is considered pornographic, you may not walk around your home nude.

so i guess in other people house is ok? or go to a hotel?

in China

To go to college you must be intelligent.

wat is this?
So they discriminating stupid people like me.

in France

-It is illegal to kiss on railways in France.

talk about the most romantic city in the world. so now we know where not to PDA. huh.

in Down Under

It is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes, felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these items are the tools of a cat burglar.

so if you wanna steal cat, do the above.

in the Big Apple

-Women may go topless in public, providing it is not being used as a business.

wow! however strangely

- It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing “body hugging" clothing.

hmmm...so its ok to parade with ur tet tet out, while it's not ok to dress like cat woman then.

The penalty for jumping off a building is death.

now, not sure which is worse: jump off and u somehow manage to survive but got death sentence. Like Alanis said, "isn't it ironic?"

and who to judge?

in Alabama: Incestuous marriages are legal.

one word: WTF?

taiwan 3P xxx scandal...

goodness...

read from one of dailies about another triple x scandal over the weekend, and this time is from taiwan (taichung).

a couple (one boy & one gal) invited another guy into their boudoir for some extra curricular activity. And judging from the pictures posted all over the internet, let's just say they are busy and enjoying themselves.

look at it from another angle, at least they are not into drugs or suicidal. Sex is a healthy activity, no? Yes.

Any form of exercise is good exercise and most importantly, use a condom & be safe.

well, not until things got out of hand and they started blackmailing the 'new' guy as they found out his family is rumoured to be politically prominent. naughty! That is so wrong! His mama found out and report to the police. Why they are online? i dun really know.

those interested to see the 3P in action. click HERE for pics. (nsfw hor)

Wahjong...

just in case u guys think i misspell "Mahjong" with a W...u are all wahhhhrong.

and if you wonder why the lack of update...well...

for one: busy at work...

second: i'm been busy recruiting friends and playing online Mahjong...called Wahjong. yup!

the M & inverted M ie. W reminded me of this phrase i heard over CNY: "today ur on top of the world...tomorrow u are upside down" ooo... u have to do it with the hand gesture.

anyway...you guys & dolls can play wahjong @ www.viwawa.com. I stumbled upon it via xiaxue site and she had a hmm...not so nice comment incident while playing with some gal.

Yes!!!...u can communicate with other live players...or

or play with your own friends. Its fun...so now Jw, J, E, S and F have joined, we can all play together and some of us did actually. Its easy. So herbal life, Kathy, Sherry, Tao, Bert, Jen/Andy, Adele, Nee, Apple...and everyone else... go register and let me know your nick. Mine is bidar_lah. So add me so we are in each other friends' list. why? so we know who and who are online.

We can create our own table, 'lock' it and invite only friends to play with. Most importantly, talk shit while we are playing just like when playing with the real thing.

Ok ok... we dun get to shout pong or scream 'kau' or show our 'invisible' hand haha! but we get to play with friends around the world. UK, Spore and Down Under. Fun leh...

ok ok...sometimes wahjong is not so wahhh...cos sometimes got lagging problem but not too bad lah...free wah...

ooo we get to create our own 'wawa' ie. animate picture of yourself. At the mo, few of you guys are NAKED...haha! strangely...your 'tet tet' or magic wand is not shown hmm...how come?

here is mine...

kawayi leh...all fully dressed...ok ok it does not look like me at all...

why? if i want to make my mini-me...it would cost me some gold & cash. So all the eyes, hairs, shirt you see are free ones...haha... aiyo..why pay? only for fun wah...

so if anyone of you guys joined...add me and we can play together! ok...no money one.

ooo while driving my new zoom zoomTM to work this morning, the local DJ was blah-blahing about road traffic and one listener texted in about one of the traffic jam he encountered. U tell me who is stupid here. (pic)

DJ: "thanks to Mr X of *insert car no. plate no*, he said Area A is having serious jam. Thanks Mr X of *insert car no. plate no*. Not sure if its wise of you to announce your car number plate to everyone."

hmm...miss DJ...aren't you the one who BROADCAST the number to everyone live on radio like twice. IDIOT! You could have left it out when u announced the traffic condition or miss out a number or something. i'm not joking hor... of course...unless the owner of the car really want others to know he does a good deed. I dunno.

Uncylopedia on Brunei...

Bloghopped around and read some funny made-up or factual articles about singapore and malaysia from this uncylopedia.org site.
Warning: Read them with a pinch or spoonful of salt, and i'm sure you can relate to some silly points. (pic)

So i search Brunei on their database and mine mine...they have already updated quite a lot of information- some are nonsense, some are seriously funny. I'm sure some ehem...will find it not funny, but do take it with a pinch of salt like i say...but some i'm sure u will say spot on. click here if you wanna read more...

otherwise...continue reading here as i highlighted some of the funny bits from the site.

on place of interest:

  • The Mall - A populated heaven for emo & scene kids to gather socially to meet with losers.
  • Kampung Ayer - Don't believe what they tell you in the brochures. This place is a garbage-infested drug-dealers' heaven.
  • Sungai Akar- Where garbages are accumulated, a place that is a billion times grosser than 2 girls 1 cup.
  • Yayasan Shopping Complex - Indon headquarters which is supposed to be a better place than the Mall.
  • Brunei Stadium - Racetrack for heavily modified Toyota Kijangs, Echos and horse carriages.
  • Seru-dong Park - Ghost-town entertainment theme park for the whole family! (B: true)
  • UBD Where your pop met your mom and banged her, 9 months later or less (depends), you pop out.
  • Miri - OH! wait! It's not a part of Brunei but it is a place for Bruneians (Mostly KBians) donating their money while Brunei is in the process of oil and gas lacking.
  • The Empire - 5 star hotel located near a beach. they usually are famous for cooking the worlds most famous overcooked pastas and lasagna.
note to BiG mag, you might want to update your descriptions on the above sites hahaha!

on teenagers

A secret conspiracy is going on as more and more male teenagers in the country appear to have a suspiciously similar looking hair fashion after visiting a $10 (student price) or $12 (Gullible student's price) hair-cut salon.
It was believed that Japanese aliens had disguise themselves in a regular form of flamboyant male Filipino hairdressers working in the salon trying to invade Brunei by giving the male teenagers a JAP-style hair cut, (pic) leveling up their self-esteem simultaneously brainwashing them to know only vanity and become worthless to their parents and turn them into a being known as zombified-trash society. (B: true- and how much products do they need on their head, seriously)

Brunei teenagers is that they have the tendency to do nothing except spend time on their Friendster and now Facebook! (pic) putting down ambiguous and pointless descriptions of themselves, Photo-shopping themselves to make themselves look bangable. (B: haha!- faceboook only...upload hor..the pictures, poke poke, send useless applications, and being ka por-but i guess not only brunei teens lah...)

They also update their blog daily, writing about what they did like going to so-called fancy restaurants like Excapade and Dome, plus they bizarrely take pictures of what they had ordered at the restaurant. Wait, I've came across a blog in which someone was showing off some ordinary chocs her daddy bought from a European country, oowww poor kid. (B: yes...there are tons of such blogs around...yawn!!! one word: if you got nothing to blog, dun post lah...)

on media

The media in Brunei consists of tabloids, newspapers, television and radio. If they don't provide television, they will turn to the Borneo Bulletin which houses the most crackpot writers in the world, mainly Ignatius Stephen. His ways of writings can shame even your writing! The newspaper also consist of an opinion section where Bruneians are given the freedom to write in and Bitch around. Unfortunately the letters make no grammatical sense whatsoever which results in them becoming completely ignored as no one can understand them, one of the better known writers is Seymour Jugs. The people of Brunei thinks he just might be the next Agatha Christie; critics say he is unbearable compared to J.K. Rowling. (B: well... remember architecture miscarriage anyone?)

in general
  • In Brunei, it is required by law that people should never walk more than 100 meters to their desired destination within the country. A journey of more than 100m should be used either by a small dorky ‘look-at-me-i-look-like-an-idiot-but-im-so-cool’ mini motorcycle or a big bulky ‘i-have-an-expensive-car-but-im-in-debt’ SUV vehicle. (B: true-...haha!!!)
  • By law, if there is a road accident in Brunei which rarely happens, other drivers are required to slow down their cars to look curiously and criticize the accident. If possible, taking pictures of the road accident is greatly encouraged. (B: so true)

  • In Brunei the meaning for "bank loan" is synonymous for "let's buy another car although we already have seven at home". (B: and so i heard)
check out the site cause they have a list of notable Bruneians....funny. again, the site does not contain the real info on any of the cities they described, just for laughs ok...

Happy reading and have a GREAT WEEKEND... eat more, win more...still CNY wah...

road trip, raybans & wedding...

wah hei...i'm a happy happpy happpy bunnyyyyyy...

Saturday, i went for a road trip to KBtown with Zar, James & met up w/ Val & S for lunch @ the original rojak/cucur udang/icekacang place. where? here lah.

Well, this trip was arranged by J, and u cannot say NO to a free ride all the way to KBtown for lunch. Plus he won himself a treat from bidarlah as he correctly

guessed this place previously;

got to say, he also guessed quite a few correctly lah. Damn Well done yo!

I'm sure James will blog all about his dayout, as he did take quite a few pics. So i will leave tat to him.

but why am i happy?

post lunch, we went shopping...well...how shld i say it? walking around the 2 rows of shops. Yeah...more like it...tat's it. But hei, was it a fruitful walk, or IT IS!!!!

1. i bought my secret santa pressie for shhhhhh!!! phew! done...

2. i bought myself another sunnies. yes! another pair...after buying one pair in Japan & one in HK - which i looooved but this one is a MUST. Cos i hv been looking for it high and low.

Earlier in the year i fell in love with the rayban's Wayfarer, and bought the
1980's version in tortoise color but wat i really wanted was the black ones. But just no way to be found plus its in minted condition man...and at a bargain. Trust me! bargain...its a keeper and collector item (my first rayban) Not the re-released ones.

Then i saw the black original ones, on Saturday in one of the shops.

clue for me, its original/ vintage sunnies.

1. the shop sells sunglasses and watches ONLY.

2. the shop had been there for donkey years.

3. all the sunnies are OLD and there are no new stocks like ever since.

4. An Ah-Gong looked after the shop ever since.

5. U can bargain. However, do check the frames & lenses carefully.

The one i bought is this one...
In case u like me, wondering how come the black one got no rayban logo...did i got ripped off, silly fool?

hmm...i dun think so, cos it came with the black leather rayban wayfarer casing, and the 'glass' lens is engraved with the BL (like all orginals)and the inside side frame is engraved with B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A with the model code. hmm...so i tot wow...original la and did not realised the missing logo. hmm...until

so i googled as me no expert in raybans and found out it's actually the1960's RayBan wayfarer. 1960's original leh!!! (i emailed this store, and now await their confirmation if it's authentic), the frame is slightly smaller than the 1980's tortoise one. Nonetheless, for the time being, i say its VINTAGE man!!!! and that deserves a celebration. And let me tell you guys, Rayban collectors...it's heaven for you guys....i tell you. Unfortunately, i only want the wayfarer. so if you guys want aviators...check it out...all kinds and bargain man.

Today...

went to Rozie & Zadi's Bersanding (wedding)- i think this could well be my first Malay wedding i attended in my life. Ok...maybe when i was young, i may have but i dun recalled; so tat doesn't count right? ok ok...not true cos last week i went to another Malay wedding but not the traditional at home type cos it's at a hotel. Well...as long there are food, i'm happy. I wanted to take photos of the place, food, day and all but it's (quite) hot and the floor is (slightly) muddy. So did not, but got talking to Gman himself- he is like he claimed on his blog, he is a funny papa/guy, and yes...payperpost works. check it out.

Anyway...CONGRATS to both the pengantin.

Y?...

y am i yellow? or y my blog should be yellow?

Your Blog Should Be Yellow

You're a cheerful, upbeat blogger who tends to make everyone laugh.
You are a great storyteller, and the first to post the latest funny link.
You're also friendly and welcoming to everyone who comments on your blog.

Just like antibarbie, i was hoping to be another color. She was hoping to be black but got red, whereas i hoped it to be red or maybe black too, instead of YELLOW.

I dun even wear yellow for God's sake. Yellow is one of those color that not alot of people can pull off and look good in, without looking like a walking banana or Big Bird. yes! not even yellow mini or yellow porsche. big no no!!! I dun even go walking around town or office with a banana in my hand; though they are yummy and good for you. And i can't stand those interior painted bright sunny yellow----sunnies needed, i tell you.

only thing i like about yellow is Coldplay's Yellow, yellow rubber duckie but if can choose, i go for other colors, and the Simpsons.

but then again, am i all those above? so if i'm cheerful, friendly and upbeat, i'm classified as yellow mellow? hmm...well then i guess i'm yellow? well better than (envy) green or (murky) brown.

****
on a different note, after my previous post, wanna thanks doctor for bringing me 2 boxes of M&S mince pies from his recent trip to down under, not souvenir unfortunately hor! I will bring some to the dinner for all to share. (what's left) I heard his 'flight' was fantastic. Com'on flying suite class on the A380, champagne free flow and ala carte menu; tell me wat is not good huh?

Project Runway 4...

Guys & dolls...

Our gorgeous Heidi is BACK...well soon...premiering on November 14 in the US of A. So cannot wait cos the KL version is boring and all the gays guys are backstabbers and sooo bitchy. Worse then the gals or the US counterparts. Seriously. No joke.

ooo...dun forget our 'make it work' Tim and trusted fashion editor Nina Garcia.

Wanna know more about the 15 hopefuls, check out the site.

First episode: It's 'Sew' Time

psst: one of them (Jack Mackenroth) will be appearing as a cameo in SATC the movie. No joke. Actually already in the can, so we will be seeing more of him when the movie is out next year. Yes! he is yummy! Cos the whole cast of SATC is oogling over him in the scene.

I promise not to write too much or anymore about the movie, cos i want it to be a surprise or see it myself on the big screen. No spoilers! But sometime, it's just very difficult cos most sites cannot wait to show the latest pics or looks. arghhh!!!!

I CANNOT WAIT!!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Letter to Astro: Show it simultaneously if possible, if not a day later.
