the safari hunt...

woke up at 4:30am yes! AM hor not pm...on a sunday somemore. Good God! when was the last time anyone of you woke up that early? tell me.

Wat's worse? my left eye was in some discomfort and fuzzy-ish, of all days. damnit! woke up and start dripping antibiotics drops. neh, the one that i accidentally poked myself with my phone cover last time. And yes! i'm the designated driver opps! But all is well. Just a bit blurry.

Wat matter was the hunt? right?

I am not gonna go to details of the event/hunt cos

1. i'm tired
2. i betcha u guys are not that bothered.
3. u can read at some other blogs (i think)

just shorthand it for you guys...

left house at

5:15 AM arrived at ICC (still dark, i tell you)

my teammates (team 66)

and team 55 (let's just say our alliance)

yup! we were in our full gear.

then slowly more and more green tee-shirts walked towards to the venue.

6:30AM flag off for Leg 1 of the hunt

we had 3 challenges to do-

part 1 animal/hunter photo pose shoot

(i say safari-themed loh)

and thank god i had my safari bday last year- so i had all the stuffs for it. yeah!!!! so drove home- got locked out (no keys)- and then realised my 'catsuit' is in Z's place. arghh!

okok! dun panic...luckily we had animal printed leggings, scarfs and others...so we made do with what we had.

then highlight no. 1 of the day happened.

everyone panicked cos we thought we left the car keys IN the car, cos it's locked. arghh! luckily it was in the plastic bag. kerazzy i tell you. wat a close call.

yes me & Mag are background trees.

and one of the other challenges was picking up rubbish. Nin nia ah! On a sunday somemore to pick up rubbish. well have to do loh, quickly and headed back to ICC for leg 2.

before 9am: we headed off again, to solve 25 questions which brought us around Muara, Berakas, Bunut, Katok, Bersurat, and where else...i oso forgot...and in between got 2 challenges some more which involved climbing running up a safari trail. Of course Mama Mag, cannot play. Luckily we have 2 'kids' with us haha... let them run... run Hadi run...

I got to say, I need to get my lazy arse to the gym or some exercise man! limpeh was tired man! slightly out of breathe when running up the hill. o am i old? eff man.

anyway....all done and clocked in.

we were confident to be at least top 20, u know and did we?

why? cos we rocked the photo shoot (and so we thought!), we answered most questions correctly, we did all the challenges well...well enough.

Ooo...we were made to stay from 1 to almost 4pm in the ICC, post lunch. gawd!

look how tired we were...no joke! mama needs her nap and limpeh needs ----

we were already knackered and my left eyes were drying and the left eye blur vision was getting a bit worse. But we stayed! why?

NOT to hear the annoyingly loud music
NOT
to see the games they had planned
NOT to hear & see one of our local celebrity 'waassup wassup' and gave us 4 songs (if u incl his promo video) gosh!!!

we stayed cos well...we want to go up the stage to receive our TICKETS. haha! yes! though in slight pain, i tried to keep our confidence level up and so did Shirley. kept reminding ourselves: We are soo gonna win it!

then i received a call from Z saying J'Z won Tri-X...well done!

and did we?

ooo before i announce, Got to say: wat a team "giving ourselves a pat on the back",

so well done team 66: Me, Mag, Shirley n Hadi. (next year maybe?) haha...

ok ok! when they started announcing the top 40...we sooo did not want to be part of it haha...nah! prizes included vacuum, washing machines and wat's not which we do not want anyway...

then top 20...ok, me & shirley were ---- still got chance, afterall we did well and we wanted TICKETS and go up the stage..ooh btw those below top 10 don't even get up on the stage. boo!!!

ALL we wanted is UP THE STAGE! haha...yes, shirley even practiced her walk & wave. no joke.

so come top 10... eeerrrr...where the eff is team 66?

then top5 - the tickets. the flight the holiday..we wanted...fingercrossing...

top 3...still NO team 66. woot?

top 2...still NO... then we knew it...wat went wrong?

damn damn...not even for best photo shoot...halo?

but at least they showed them on the screen.

then they started the 10 lucky draws. So we stayed a little bit longer...com'on we waited for almost 4 freaking hours.

Just before the last item, we decided to move ourselves towards the doors to avoid the big rush of crowd leaving the venue. Hadi even left to the toilet/nicotine fix.

highlight no 2 happened...are u ready?

the MC announced, "the winner is a famous route in the Mid West of USA".

we were like: NOOOO!!! its US!!! its US!! OMG!!! haha..

its route 66 lah...hahaha...

and those 2 gals asked me to go ON STAGE to collect the 20 inch LCD flat screen TV. So save to say...Team 66 did go on stage, but me on their behalf. haha!

can u believe it? it's really scrapping the barrel man! the last one! haha! well...at least WE WON something. good time!!!!

drove back, showered and zzz from around 8pm to the next morning. DAMN TIRED!!! but it was fun!

Now we have a TV for sale. Any takers? no joke. we want the monehhhhh...

SO FOR SALE

for B$500 it could be yours. Its a bargain. retailing at B$600 or above. dun believe, go check yourself. interested let me know. Flat screen leh...

UPDATE: 0907 TV IS SOLD! ;)

BiG (small) prizes...

last week i got a text from BiGwan himself, asking if i'm free on (last) saturday as they will be a prize presentation for the photo competition?

I replied asking, Why? am i in the running? Will there be a prize of me or just a shout out saying i joined or worse, make up the numbers for the day?

I was hinted, "of course got prize lah"

So after giving much thoughts, whether to just send him a taping of my winning speech, or send my PA to accept on my behalf, or simply decline with a basket of fruits, i decided nah!...why not? how often do i get an award, huh and maybe end up in the paper.

So took an hour off work on saturday to attend the prize giving ceremony in tourism board. It was a very informal set up.

Actually it's in their board room.

Actually, they did not even do any banner or set up or jazzed up the place. there are even missing ceiling tiles? (i got pics but in my other camera)

Actually most of the staffs were not even dressed or bother to look smart as they were all (most) in their exercise gear cos every saturdays = exercise days.

Like i said, informal loh. But but but like all ceremonies, the food were aplenty lah.

I was introduced to the BiG team, and saw the other winners seated with whoever they came with and i was there all by myself. where are my supporters? huh... where? i did ask a few of the bidarlahs, they said they rather zzz. hmm...

So once the Acting Director from Tourism Department entered the room, a quick intro was given and my name was called. I won a merit prize for my submission. ok ok! i compared mine to the others, mine look amateur-ish ok...i admit. But I got say THANK YOU to BiG for choosing mine out of all the hundreds, thousands submissions u received. click here for the other winners.

What did i get?

hei, only merit award lah...so i got this:

a goodie paper bag containing

a cap, a dvd somemore about brunei i think,

a card holder- useful

and a meal voucher for 2.

and and my winning picture will be in the coming issue. wahsei. :)

and and and ooo...i'm in the paper...seee see...haha! thanks Z for the cutout via text.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!! and hope espeed is fixed.

A Vintage Rose Moment...

How's everyone feeling? How's ya weekend?

if i dun post this now, i dun know when, cos i'm swamped with work in the office. Madness! So much till i need an extra pair of hands, actually make it 2 more. Changes upon changes. Well, i don't blame the client as they just got thrown into the deep end too and without revealing too much and boring you...they are our client no 2, cos client no 1 left. So now, they want to change here and there. Fair enuf. So now it's all up to me, to revise and me being me, i tend to complicate things. arghhh.... So i change and change and change.

enuf of me...

now about wat we did last saturday night?

we went to celebrate our hallo kitty lover, Mag's belated 30. yes! welcome to our box! haha! embrace it with a smile!

got a text from her one week earlier about her do and we started scratching our balls head, Wat to get for her? I cant just buy her 2 boxes of agar-agar mix, or can I?

So we went to her favorite shop in town to get her a dress. hope u like it yo! Remember if it doesn't fit or if u dun like, can exchange, no problem. U are a VIP member so it's ok, as the saleslady said. (btw, her name is Rain-i'm not kidding)

well well well...enuf of me blah-blah...pics right!

here...

food was nice and we had aplenty...however the lamb chop w/ pepper sauce is chewy and fatty. so mr chef, try again...

look at the cake!!!
it's yummy! and yes! i think i ate too much. no joke!!!

pressie no 1.

pressie no 2.

thanks Mag for the nice meal...

post dinner, went back to my crib for some real mahjong, unfortunately i did not play because not enough kaki (legs) for 2 tables. So 4 of them played, 2 of them zzz, while 2 of us ...hmm...played wahjong...sad huh! hahaha...

spoiler alert for Project Runway 4. Do not continue if you dun wanna know....

We also watched PR 4 finale. OMG! All 3 finalists' works are fantastic, i must say. ok, one of them are not cohesive but still look good individually, while the runner up who could well be the winner too, if not for the guest judge - i think! Of course it's major fierce!!! congrats Christian.

What I did that night?

yes...to those who left messages asking what i will be doing on 2702?

well...as i posted previously, i celebrated my bday on Vday this year. But that does not mean no one else gonna celebrate with me on the very day.

I got some of the rich and famous people in this country to dine & party (using the word party loosely lah) with. No joke. And even got a Singaporean celebrity to host the night for me leh...Dun believe me...

ok ok...i dun have pictures to prove that i know ALLLL the people on that night - really people mountain people sea ya!. I only know a few familiar faces. spotted: ex-classmates, suppliers, consultants, hi-bye friends, cousins. Yes...all these people were there to celebrate my bday but the only thing is that they dont know about it. haha

fine fine...it was the world's local bank chinese new year dinner lah,

and also my annual trip to the ICC (what else to see or do there?)

So like last year, we head there and again we were late. Gosh! by the time we got there, the room was packed and most of the tables were seated. *arghhhh... of course, we being the 'cultured' ones, the 'got good manners' ones, the 'got class' ones dun go scolding or demanding to be seated straight away.

What happened? We got ushered from bank to front, left to right, back to left again, then finally found 3 seats for us. where?

here...
in the vegetarian table of all places...wat to do? better than standing right.

I tell you, no offense to all vegetarians out there...how the hell you guys eat 'mock' or fake or 'pretend to be' dishes? Maybe it was not well-prepared by the caterers lah. We had FAKE prawns, FAKE chicken, and the worse of the bunch: FAKE fish *yucks yuck*

Like past 2 years, our numbers were not chosen. hmm...we never win anything one... :( shopping vouchers lah, u-papa lah, tickets lah... and even guessing oso guessed wrong. aiyo...

But like i said earlier, we got celebrity leh...a hmm...i give him B-list status lah. Cos me not too sure too...he's not that famous as Zoe Tay (the queen of Spore who for 'beautiful skin, she swallow'-oh yes! she does!) but he is everywhere-hosting quite a few tv programs and he is funny. VERY FUNNY one. Plus his name start with B too lah...so ok lah.

see...celebrity spotting: Bryan Wong.

ooo he got blog too...so check him out, click here.

Nah...you see...not bad right, I celebrated with the super-rich people and had picture taken with a celebrity some more. what more you want huh?

and to top it off, we got snapped with the CEO of the world's local bank. how about that?

CEO leh. dun play play hor...how many CEO u know huh?

V-day

yup yup! today the cupids will be extremely busy today as it is one of the overrated day of the year- the loved up day- the day where flowers are ridiculously priced- the day where some restaurants jacked up their set menu.

yes...yes...it's Valentine's Day.

I'm not bitter ok...before you guys start texting me or emailing me, cos i'm ALL for sweet sweet doings, give your loved ones head if you wish, give everything...make them happy. I just dun understand why do we need to spend extra money on such a day... I know some gals demand their partners to do so, if not...blackface hor or worse no sex. gosh! (pic)

well, like they say, if you can beat them, join them lah...SO HAPPY VALENTINE TO EVERYONE!

May all you gals get what you want: a loooong... piiiiink... perfect...
.
.
.
.
.
.

rose lah(pic) ;0

May all the guys get what they want tonight too: piiiiink....peeerrrky....and.... looooong ...too :)

ooo...despite all the hoo has, without such a day...i wouldn't be blogging with my dot.com hor...hehe! thanks xxx. Now this is money well spend, i say, rather than some useless roses which wilt in a week and end up in the bin.

yup...i'm sure most singletons dread this day too but hei...look on the bright side, you won't be alone as there are other equally bitter singletons out there like him. hehe! and ladies please do not buy flowers and send them to yourself. Being alone on this overrated day is not that bad. Just like any other day isn't it? no one to go home too, no one to say i love you, no one to kiss, no one to bug you, no one for you to nagggggg, and no one for you to poke. If you must poke, go to facebook lah...and poke ur friends lah...So being alone is fine, right?

psst: so looking forward to tonite "under the spotlight". shhh!!!! (guys & dolls you ready?)

shorts & shoes...

yup! that's the theme for the night: SHORTS & SHOES.

From "no need theme lah" to having one, from one venue to another, from inside to outside.

Our E, initially did not want another themed party but after the previous one, he decided do just the opposite for his very own. As previously, we attended the couture dress code-strictly no shorts or sandals-dinner, he thought his shall be just shorts & shoes. so smart hor him hmm...

We celebrated E's 31 in a seat down banquet style dinner. It's the first time we dined at this venue as the 1st choice was fully booked, 2nd was really 'bida' as they effed up the arrangements - from having karaoke to "sorry sir, cannot cos someone else need it"; from upstairs to downstairs -"cos a customer decided to book the whole floor"; then 2 days before:"we have to move you outside with partition cos we have a bigger booking who requested the room".
* the second venue is the one with the 'flower' and begins with I.

Luckily J recommended the 3rd venue and it's available.

It was a rather a big space. see...enuf for some full-on dancing (which we obviously did later ala toxic style)

We had most food served ala chinese banquet style: cold dishes, shark fin soup...and long-life noodle (as it's a bday) plus desserts.
and ooo we even had the herbal life spokesperson tat night on the table...wahsei...so thin leh... wah...look like a little boy...wah it works leh...

Most of us wore shorts; one with hot pants with boots, one came in his gym attire, one miss-understood and wore a short dress hehe!

Followed by karaoke: from sammi to sandy to sheila to peter pan.

followed on with dancing & camwhoring

followed on by loads of boozing trying to get E to puke from round the table -

to round the corner - to outside the lobby...the boy just kept running and passing the drinks round.

followed by find his pressies from us.

Not much of a surprise cos he knew what he will be getting? why? he hint asked us to get him this. (time for me to update my wishlist soon haha)

luggageplus a top-up pressie from agar2 & Ju - ion free hair dryer (so the next time E, when we travel together, the hairdryer better be in the luggage hor)

followed by blowing the candle & more camwhoring...
more dancing, karaoke-ing, forcing drinks down E's throat (1 bottle of swing, 1 vodka, 2 asahis, more beers, 1 elize). if my out of tune singing cos anyone suffering that night, well...tough! haha! next time pull the mic from me lah ok!

it was a fun night and i think we stayed till almost 1am.
I think we ended the night with Elim giving us his half-tipsy rendition of sammi medley.

Madonna 並未像我吧, Emily 並未像你吧, Bidarlah 並未像我吧, It’s Mi 無關其他迷人娃娃

Hope you had a great time, Elim! Thanks for dinner.

the day after or so...

Ok, i did not want to start the year writing a post-party post, so cliche ya! but wat you guys gonna read is yes...our NY eve par-tay. I've been staring at this post since yesterday and blank cos i'm having one of those blogger's block moment. argh!!! just feeling so scarlet. plus i'm busy at work.

well...shut and get on with it lah...not tat it will be any interesting besides me rambling on and on and on with my bida, grammatically incorrect english. So english teacher or writers do not judge. ok!

So how did you guys spent your last day of 2007 to welcome 2008?
in bed? on top of someone or spread eagle? on the dancefloor getting groped? getting pissed? got high? who did u suckface with? do tell...share...no judgement!

For some of us: Me, Z, JG, J, B and E went to a 'by-invitation only' party organised by C. is it a blast or boo?

To be honest, I think the word 'party' is a bit of a stretch. Why?

ok ok...the food is surprising good. though we hope the venue can be a little bit brighter cos i felt like we are eating in the dark. no joke!

the crowd...hmm...how shall i say this? ...where are they? again, we went there thinking its a private-ish parrrty so the crowd would be happening, only to find out...only a handful turned up.
Since we were there, we just need to make do loh...fill the dancefloor ourselves haha...literally.

drag ur cursor over the slide for special effect.

Everyone knows i'm a light drinker. yes i'm a cheap date. Anyway, we played drinking game of course lah, wat else but the twist is the winner drinks! Yes! sound nice huh...free booze and all. Wat we get as our 'reward'- double shot of Mr Walker. omg! So who got the first honour to down it neat! Of course our J. haha! she was the smart one i tell you...haha...followed by another shot.

I myself got 'rewarded' twice cos i gave the 3rd shot to someone. See...it's all about sharing haha!!! So we ate, drank, danced...drank...danced...ate more...drank more...danced more...till the clock strucked 12.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! hugs all round and continued moving our bodies around. the crowd is getting thinner and thinner. Some came and went...home to have sex (and so i heard!) J...how could u not know?

after prancing around for almost 5 hours and the lack of eye candies, we decided to crush another private le'qua parrrty. mine mine mine...

the crowd were high on somethin' and must say this: much more happening compared to our earlier one. why? it kinda scary to begin with cos it's dark and so many new faces. People were hugging, trying to kiss or kissing or fooling around; and we crashers or newbies felt like frog out of the water...dun know wat to do, or where to stand. But was much fun than the first one.

JG even met his celebrity blogger haha! who could well be his very own 'coffee'. JG come on! why not? You guys were already groping & cranking on the dance floor yo! ooo besides him, J too was busy groping and groped by the host-till the host boyfriend came trying to cut in. Too much bah!...later u kena thrown out i tell you.

Ok, enuf...no more details...cos i dun even rmb half of wat happened. All i remember then were...

Xmas (eve): food & pressies...

Ho ho ho!!! (this is the only time when u can shout ho! three times without getting slap)

So how's everyone doing so far? It's Boxing Day!!! Still Overhang? Tired? Stuffed? do tell...

How did we celebrate the festive ho ho ho? well... let's see

1. hair & outfit - checked

2. secret santa pressie - checked

3. camera - checked

4. battery for camera - full

wat else? ooo yeah...memory card for the camera. yes!!!! wot an idiot! only to forget to pull it out of my lappie. arggghhh!!!! so J, thanks for camera-share otherwise this post will be full of text and am sure no one gonna read.

where did we go? unlike last year, we decided to do it in a restaurant and opted for one of the restaurant in Empire...thinking 1. ambiance 2. good food 3. can BYO so all of us can be merry.

and so we thought...

let's start by ambiance or what's lack off? U would think for a 6 star hotel/resort, they would glammed up the place for the festive season - NADA! Seriously. Ambiance my arse i tell you...Nothing in the lobby. Wat a BIG disappointment! So any better in the restaurant itself. NOPE!

And u would think for the price we paid, 60 bucks each + 10%, we would get at least a party pack or crackers or santa 'paper' hats. nope! They could have at least told our PO on the phone cos she did check and they said," Dunno, cos their manager haven't tell us." wateva!!!
All we get was a tiny potted part of a branch of a tree as our centrepiece for the table. I am gonna say it: is this the worse looking trying-to-be-a-without any effort- Xmas tree. Seriously, such a disgrace for a six star hotel. Tho' they did have a xmas tree by the entrance but still...all of us agreed our very own's last year one looked sooo much better.

some of us...

we didn't take much pic to be honest, but believe me...there are a few more of us hehe! check out the slide show...

food...

well, the reason we opted here is for it's sit-down 7 course dinner rather than buffet. com'on buffet- you can stuff yourself any other day, and it's xmas eve...so a nice dinner sounds better.

our menu.

our tien tien chilli sauce tomato gazpacho followed by the yummy scallops

yes...the duck was missing cos i ate them all too quickly before i had a chance to snap haha! yes! it's nice.
green apple sherbet (yes, elim-keep scrapping the ice-wait for it to melt haha); last mains: the *cough cough* overcooked, superdry salmon.
dessert: enuf said- bitter chocolate...

some complained: where's the turkey? or lamb? or roast beef? where?

secret santa

half way through our dinner, we opened our secret pressies YEAH...and guessed who gave who & who gave what- the look on the face is interesting. Somehow i hv a feeling santa mama jwong will be buying me again this year and suffice to say, i was right! haha! last year she got me a picture frame and this year...quote & unquote "the biggest present, i'm sure... 2 in 1: both practical & novelty" check it out...

I'm glad Bird Bird like his piggies!!! And yes...Jwong, if you want to borrow the duckie water dispenser or 'want it back', let me know in advance ok!!! hehe!

and just before we leave...we just had to make the most out of what we have there, with the lack of ambiance and the so-so food, Group pic. Well...at the very least: we had a good time-friends gathered together to celebrate the ho ho ho...though some of us incl me...think we will not be spending xmas there next time.

our brothers & sisters moment...

bride from cat land...

to those wondering if the lack of post is due to the festive events ie. busy raya-ing (open housing). guys you are wrong! I'm simply having blogger's block. Really...and ooo, blame facebook!

anyway...

went to a wedding banquet last night. the last one i went was hmm...i think was KY & IC wedding last year. tat long huh? see i got not many peng u lah; either that or 1. they can't be ask to get marry, 2. marry but no banquet ceremony, 3. bat for the other team. oh well, i think next year, there might be a few more weddings - home & away. I can't wait for the away one to be honest. shh! shh! I cant wait to see the rock man! it's HUGE from the pic i saw. that's a ring i say. not ur tiny i want a simple ring. (yawn)

anyway...disgressing...

as i say, ooo wedding banquet invitation...actually where is the invitation card? this one oso want to save. only by phone call and text. pai sey lah, cos i'm not even invited by the bride or the groom, it's by her brother. wat? am i a filler? haha! kidding lah.

it's banquet between the sunny-boyz & twins. (not the HK cheesy in your face boy/gal group).

It's Sunny & Wen(dy)

just to remind everyone whose wedding that night.

see see the happy couple who whizzed passed in ferrari record time, i tell you. One blink, you might missed them haha...

As i dun really know the couple that well to write something about them. All i know it's a classic boy gal love story. Boy go Uni, Girl go Uni, Boy meets Girl, Girl try to avoid, Girl got touched (i dunno abt physical action lah-sure got la-maybe later!), Boy/Girl become boyfriend & girlfriend, Boy proposed, Girl said yes!, Girl moved to Kittyland, Boy/Girl become Husband & Wife, Husband & Wife lives happily ever after.

they even have a screen for playback of their actual wedding for guest to enjoy before they arrived.

the venue / set up...and yes i hv been constantly reminded there & then on how lovely the decors, the set up,
the tables, and ooo the flowers...all fresh ones ya!...

from the arches, to the walkways, to the stage to these rose balls...

and total cost a lot (not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4)... yes yes!! i heard u, mr event organiser. so there...

food was yummmm....i tell you. i dun know abt you, i somehow loves banquet food haha...of course they have to be tasty and the lo's family ones never fail to impress...

starters...(i of course, did not take every single dish...cos i'm not one of those bloggies) wait wait wait...snap first. so only took a few. hehe! have to wah.

like all banquet: shark fin soup is a must, herbal duck, fried chicken, abalone, fried rice in lotus leaf, fish,
half way through...YAM SING!!!

and desserts...ooo desserts...the lotus filled pastry is yuuummmm... ok i admit i had more than my share...hei not only me ya! we even took next tables one muahahah!!!

why? the uncle came over to our table and asked us if we are done, and took away our 2 last piece, hei hei hei! how dare u! so we asked the waiter to bring more muahahahah! hei...wat? its goood ya! yes no shame! hei, dun waste food mah!

ooo i got to mention this.

during the ceremony, the MC for the nite asked the bride/groom onstage to play a few games and questions time. just to keep those uncles and aunties slaughtering chickens singing.

one part, he blindfolded Wen, and got a few guys to kiss her (on her cheeks lah) to guess which one is her hubby? and yes! I was asked to be one of them. I declined and declined and say NO! but hmm...fine fine.

They got 3 other guys (incl me) and this cute little boy.
