Xmas (eve): food & pressies...
Ho ho ho!!! (this is the only time when u can shout ho! three times without getting slap)
So how's everyone doing so far? It's Boxing Day!!! Still Overhang? Tired? Stuffed? do tell...
How did we celebrate the festive ho ho ho? well... let's see
1. hair & outfit - checked
2. secret santa pressie - checked
3. camera - checked
4. battery for camera - full
wat else? ooo yeah...memory card for the camera. yes!!!! wot an idiot! only to forget to pull it out of my lappie. arggghhh!!!! so J, thanks for camera-share otherwise this post will be full of text and am sure no one gonna read.
where did we go? unlike last year, we decided to do it in a restaurant and opted for one of the restaurant in Empire...thinking 1. ambiance 2. good food 3. can BYO so all of us can be merry.
and so we thought...
let's start by ambiance or what's lack off? U would think for a 6 star hotel/resort, they would glammed up the place for the festive season - NADA! Seriously. Ambiance my arse i tell you...Nothing in the lobby. Wat a BIG disappointment! So any better in the restaurant itself. NOPE!
And u would think for the price we paid, 60 bucks each + 10%, we would get at least a party pack or crackers or santa 'paper' hats. nope! They could have at least told our PO on the phone cos she did check and they said," Dunno, cos their manager haven't tell us." wateva!!!All we get was a tiny potted part of a
branch of a tree as our centrepiece for the table. I am gonna say it: is this the worse looking trying-to-be-a-without any effort- Xmas tree. Seriously, such a disgrace for a six star hotel. Tho' they did have a xmas tree by the entrance but still...all of us agreed our very own's last year one looked sooo much better.
some of us...

we didn't take much pic to be honest, but believe me...there are a few more of us hehe! check out the slide show...food...
well, the reason we opted here is for it's sit-down 7 course dinner rather than buffet. com'on buffet- you can stuff yourself any other day, and it's xmas eve...so a nice dinner sounds better.
yes...the duck was missing cos i ate them all too quickly before i had a chance to snap haha! yes! it's nice.
green apple sherbet (yes, elim-keep scrapping the ice-wait for it to melt haha); last mains: the *cough cough* overcooked, superdry salmon.
dessert: enuf said- bitter chocolate...some complained: where's the turkey? or lamb? or roast beef? where?
secret santa
half way through our dinner, we opened our secret pressies YEAH...and guessed who gave who & who gave what- the look on the face is interesting. Somehow i hv a feeling santa mama jwong will be buying me again this year and suffice to say, i was right! haha! last year she got me a picture frame and this year...quote & unquote "the biggest present, i'm sure... 2 in 1: both practical & novelty" check it out...
I'm glad Bird Bird like his piggies!!! And yes...Jwong, if you want to borrow the duckie water dispenser or 'want it back', let me know in advance ok!!! hehe!
and just before we leave...we just had to make the most out of what we have there, with the lack of ambiance and the so-so food, Group pic. Well...at the very least: we had a good time-friends gathered together to celebrate the ho ho ho...though some of us incl me...think we will not be spending xmas there next time.
our brothers & sisters moment...

yeah...and a bunch of non-christians (minus one almost christian & one who rarely go to church) celebrating xmas is not odd hahahaha...
show us ur turkey....
HEY! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Turkey is not meant for Xmas day. Ham is the one.
who says turket not meant for xmas hmm... pls dun say that...u will crush all the cooks & turkey farmers around the world...
according to wikipedia different countries have different traditions and food for xmas. Ur Ham i do hear abt it...and yes i guess it all depends on the families which dish they want to cook.
turkey is still the traditional bird of choice eaten on the table for Xmas (& Thanksgiving) around the world. ooo now i rmb...where were the mincepies or christmas pudding? hmm...
the group pic has such a 'homely' feeling :) merry (belated) xmas everyone~ heres to the new year!!!*cheers*
